Circa 1910. This sautoir snake slide chain is a fabulous find! The 14KT gold square wheat chain necklace adjusts in length by means of a 12KT gold snake head accented with two prong-set imitation pearls and two bead-set round faceted pink sapphires. Three tassels dangle below from both the snake and the end of the necklace. One additional imitation pearl is bezel-set above the central tassel. The chain measures 44 inches, and was likely crafted in Portugal.
